1991 Syclone Walk-around Video

When the GMC Syclone was introduced in 1991, GM used videos that were sent to dealerships as a training tool for the salesman. The 13 minute video covers all of the highlight features, performance data, and promotional information of the truck and was to be utilized as a learning aid for conducting knowledgable floor sales to interested customers.
A worthwhile mention is that in the video is the footage of two trucks. In the first three minutes of the video, a stock appearing production truck was used as noted by the “elephant ear” sideview mirrors. While the the snow scene footage shows the truck with the electric sideview mirrors. This was never a feature or option for the 1991 production Syclone, however was a planned item that was to be standard on the never-released 1992 Syclone.
Also noted are both trucks having black GMC letters. While it is known that PAS did install black GMC letters on the early VIN 1992 Typhoons, no Syclones where given the blacked out GMC letters during actual production. This indicates that the trucks seen in the video are assumed to be pre-production pilot trucks and the footage filmed was done before trucks were allocated to dealerships. Because this is a training video meant for dealerships and not public promotion, these details were not of concern for GM.
