SyTy Tech September 21, 2019 SyTyRegistry 0
The TV (throttle valve) cable on the 700R4 (and 200-4R) transmissions help control line pressure, shift points, part throttle downshifts, and detent (WOT) downshifts. So if the TV cable is not adjusted properly or if it has become stretched, it can cause odd shift patterns or other transmission problems.
If your TV cable is bent, frayed, or damaged in any way that it is sticking, binding or restricting any sort of movement to allow functionality, this article will not help you. Replace your TV cable.
Our friends over at Howtune cover the details on how to test your TV cable and make the necessary adjustments if needed. No specialty tools are necessary for the adjustment and can be quickly done with immediate results.
